About the Founder
Heather Mae Shampine has spent her career charting calm through chaos — from large-scale disaster response and basecamp operations to strategic business development and contingency planning across the public and private sectors. Through her leadership with Blue2Gray, she partners with emergency management agencies, logistics providers, and private industry to design and deliver adaptable, scalable solutions — from response-ready workforce housing and support camps to long-term recovery strategies and business resilience programs.
Driven by the same clarity and creativity that have defined her field work, Heather also leads The Idea Ferry, a Blue2Gray division created for everyday entrepreneurs — the people with big ideas and small beginnings. Through one-on-one guidance and practical tools, she helps new founders navigate their ideas from concept to launch with the same thoughtful structure she brings to complex operations.
Whether coordinating a 2,000-person basecamp or helping someone bring a dream business to life, Heather believes success is built on preparation, connection, and the courage to start — no matter the scale.
